Created by the Aquatic Life Institute, the Aquatic Animal Alliance is a coalition of advocacy organizations that believe aquatic animals should have lives free of suffering.

Modeled after Climate Justice Alliance and Open Wing Alliance, Aquatic Animal Alliance unites animal nonprofits around a common goal of decreased aquatic animal suffering. We add our collective voice to initiatives, share research insights, and coordinate campaigns as part of a cohesive, multi-pronged, worldwide movement.

Inter-organization collaboration and coordination with:

• Animal nonprofits worldwide

• Aquatic Life Institute’s network of scientists and fish welfare experts

• Collective lobbying of decision makers at various levels (local, national, and international)

• Development of “asks” as a coalition, ensuring advancement of the most robust welfare standards

• Engagement with certifiers and other key decision makers to implement these standards
